Sembawang Teck Hing Pawnshop Pte Ltd

We are incorporated in 1964. We are one of the few family-run businesses at that time. My great grandfather, Lam Joo Onn founded this traditional trade. We started off humbly at one of the shop houses in front of the rubber factory off Old Nee Soon Road (presently is developed into a residential area opposite Nee Soon camp).

That's my great grandfather  and the old rubber factory located at my first establishment.

At that time, there were approximately about 40 pawnshops. All the pawnshops had to bid for the pawnbrokers’ license annually in order to carry on their businesses.

At 1987, due to redevelopment plans at Old Nee Soon Road, we shifted to Blk 729 Yishun Ring Road. We settled there for about 13 years and we then shifted to Blk 921 Yishun Central on 16th Oct 2000.

However that was not the end. We received another redevelopment letter from the HDB on the year 2008. As such, we decided to shift to the present premise at Blk 235 Yishun St.21.

As you can see, we have been shifting within Yishun, we are here to serve the residents of Yishun for the years to come as they have been supporting us since we started our operation in this precinct.

Our company Managing Director, Mr Lam Yen Koon have seen the tribulations of this trade since he took over from the reins of operations from Mr Lam Joo Onn. Mr Lam Joo Onn had always emphasized the importance of upholding the integrity of this trade and providing quality customer experience to our customers.

These were our great grandfather’s words that we have learned and have been practicing till now. It became the motto of our Lam Family; “VOTE”.

V: Value means uphold good value, ethics and integrity
O: Offer Quality service and value to our customers.
T: Take care of our customers’ needs and items offered
E: Ensure you with flexibility of our services offered.

So, “VOTE” for us when you looking for quick, instant financial assistance and we will be right there at your doorsteps for your needs.
